Abstract
Oral history interview of Alex Drummond [formerly Ron Cox]. Interview began with Drummond describing his childhood, early climbs with his father, and high school and college experiences. Included descriptions of Drummond's climbs in Mount Teton, Mount Rainier, and several mountains in Colorado. Drummond detailed his pulmonary edema episodes at Mount Rainier, leading to his diagnosis of high-altitude pulmonary edema (HAPE) and frostbite injuries. Discussed a 1978 cross-country skiing tip across Colorado and two trips cross-country skiing across Yellowstone in the later 1980s. Drummond explained his love of nature and the value of being outside.
