Abstract

Typed letter from C.D. Spivak to the Daily Jewish Courier. Spivak informs the courier that their telegraph was received and Spivak included his reply to the telegraph. Spivak informs them that JCRS will be pleased to take care of the young man they referenced in their previous telegraph once the sanatorium has vacancy. Spivak tells the courier that the sanatorium is very crowded at the present time so be sure to send the man with money to cover his room and lodging at a rate of $5.50 per week. Spivak also advises that before the man comes to Denver he must obtain advice from an expert physician. Spivak tells them that there will be letters to follow. Spivak continues to say that it is impossible for JCRS to take in anyone because the sanatorium has reached its capacity. If the sanatorium was twice as large, JCRS could fill the sanatorium with a number of applicants waiting to be admitted. Spivak reminds the courier that he will do his best to admit their patient as soon as possible, but again emphasizes that the courier needs to provide the patient with sufficient funds to live because he does not know how long the wait will be. Spivak finishes the letter by again stating that the patient must be examined by a physician to make sure he can handle the climate in Denver, Colorado. Spivak tells them he will try his best to comply with their request for the young man and signs the letter, “Secretary” at the bottom.
