W. Yvonne Ponce for Colorado Reflections
Abstract
W. Yvonne Ponce served as the volunteer coordinator for the Black American West Museum and her research into the lives of Black women in early Colorado history. Ponce describes her collaborative research with Paul Stewart for their book about Black cowboys which led to her research into the contributions and accomplishments of Black women in Colorado. Ponce discusses the lives and accomplishments of Black women in Colorado history including, Dr. Justina Ford, Daisy Jones, Madame C.J. Walker, Olietta Moore, and Aunt Clara Brown.
