Abstract
George Schweigert, born and raised in Colorado, reflects on his childhood in Westcliffe and Canon City. Reflects on selling candy to miners at coal mines, playing the wild burros that came to his family's yard, living near the penitentiary and his interactions with prisoners, and his memories of silver mining and prospecting. Discusses his father, who was an attorney and county judge that specialized in water rights and disputes. Reflects on his love of fishing and how the art of fishing has changed over the years.
