Box 27: Ski Boots, bulk: 1965 - 2005
Abstract
Box 27 contains seven (7) total ski boots--three (3) pairs and one (1) single boot. The single boot is a black Rosemount ski boot with silver buckles and side plate. Released in 1965/66, the boot is historically significant as Rosemount Ski Boots introduced one of the earliest all-plastic ski boots for the downhill skiing market, competing with Bob Lange for the title of "first". Rosemount's design was easily distinguished by its use of the uncommon side-entry for putting the boot on, which was rare at the time, and is no longer used. The first pair of boots are Scott ski boots from 1969. They are the Rear Entry Lite model and are white with black details. Designed by Francis L. Franet, they are the first light weight shell and rear entry design ski boots. The second pair of boots are San Marco ski boots. The date of manufacture is unknown. They are plastic, yellow and grey, with white details. The liner is missing from both boots. The third pair of boots are Nordica ski boots. The date of manufacture is unknown. They are plastic, gray and black, with red details.
