Abstract
This reel contains a lecture at the University of Denver by Marie Winn. The lecture is titled, "Children as an Audience". Winn discusses the notion that the modern perception of children is precisely that--modern. She briefly discusses the difference between modern children and medieval children. Winn then turns to a discussion of Alice in Wonderland and the notion of writing for children in general. She covers the writings of several authors including Lewis Carroll and J.R.R. Tolkien. The year of the lecture is unknown, however it most likely took place in the mid 1960s.
