The Penrose Collection Digital Archive consists of highlights from the University Libraries' Penrose Collection, including artists' books, cartoons, cookbooks, and other forms and genres on which the library maintains a collecting focus. These works have been digitized and made available in the Special Collections @ DU digital repository, and are cataloged here and in the library management system.

Box and binding designed and created by artist Karen Hanmer in 2009 for the University of Denver, University of Denver Libraries. "'Gebrochene rucken' variation of the Bradel binding, covered in full leather over Japanese tissue inspired by Paul Delrue's Lacunose technique. Goatskin onlay, hinges and endbands, graphite edges, blind stamping. (9.5 x 6 x 5 in.) Repeated stamping of key words from two Poe short stories reinforces their themes of obsession. Onlay references a bird wing, shroud or clawlike hand." -- From insert.
