Landmark Designation Application, 2021
Abstract
Application to Denver Landmark Preservation Commission for landmark designation for 1565 Winona Court. The application was prepared by Ron Sladek, Tatanka Historical Associates Inc. The single-family residence was built in 1941 and purchased by Rudolph and Anna Mae Boscoe in October of 1941. The parents of Sam and Rudy Boscoe founded the Star Bakery in 1907 and both sons began delivering bread by horse-drawn wagon in highschool and later took over management of the company. Another aspect of the historical significance is that the house is across the street from the historic Zera Abraham synagogue in an Orthodox Jewish neiborhood.
