Amy Anderson has a degree from Loretto Heights College and has been a professional dancer for 25 years and an instructor for 30 years in the Denver area. She trained at Colorado Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, The Joffrey Ballet, and Pacific Northwest Ballet as well as extensively throughout Europe. Locally, she has performed with Colorado Ballet, David Taylor Dance Theatre, Colorado Repertory Dance Company, and the Jan Justis Dance Company. She teaches and performs Argentine Tango with Parasol Arts. After a serious dance-related injury in 1990, Anderson studied to become a Pilates Instructor with an emphasis in dance medicine and rehabilitation, the method in which she was rehabilitated herself. She is certified by St. Francis Hospital in San Francisco and has worked with many health organizations in Denver as well as teaching injury prevention workshops and summer intensives. Anderson also has a private practice, Engage Movement Arts, and is part of the medical team for Colorado Ballet. She taught the Anatomy in Clay® System for five years with her husband Gregory Gonzales, a 2019 Legend of Dance.
