Box 77: North American Hand Papermakers (NAHP) 2024 "New Altitudes" Conference, October 17-19, 2024
Abstract
This box contains materials gathered from the North American Hand Papermakers Members' 2024 Annual Conference: New Altitudes. New Altitudes was hosted at the University of Denver Anderson Academic Commons from October 17, 2024 - October 19, 2024.
Materials in this box include a commemorative tote bag that was handed out at the conference. The tote bag is canvas and has the New Altitudes logo (The 'A' of Altitudes is a triangle with the word 'new' inside it) on it. There are also materials that were provided to conference attendees such as the event schedule, an invite to the Colorado Paper Collective Showcase, a Denver Dining Guide, and an invite to see an exhibit of the work of Ray Tomasso (a long-time member of NAHP who began to explore handmade paper as a sculpture materials in the late 1960s and early 1970s), and an invite to a workshop in Ray Tomasso's honor. This box also includes the contents of a binder of the participating members of the NAHP 2024 Annual Showcase; it includes the artist's photo, the artist's bio, a picture of their showcased art, and the artist's statement on that piece. Lastly, this box contains samples of handmade paper art made by papermakers at the conference; some of the paper samples include artist information and information about how the paper was made.
