Real Estate, 1859-2015
Abstract
This series contains all materials related to the University of Denver's property and real estate interests. It includes materials about the administration and management of property such as property lists and inventories, Annual Reports of the Manager of Real Estate, and proposals and planning for new land developments. This series also includes maps and blueprints of DU properties. It also includes all of the title doucments, title abstracts, and leasing documentation of DU property on and off campus. There is also documentation about the properties that were gifted to the University of Denver and properties that DU sold to various outside entities. Lastly, this series contains materials about the property-related financial assets of DU such as real estate investments and oil, gas, and mineral interests.
Documents in this collection reach back to 1859 and extend until 2015.

Biographical / Historical
The real estate records of the University begin with the transfer by John Evans of the property on Arapahoe Street that was the original Colordo Seminary building. There are records for the other downtown properties, including the Haish Building, the University Building, the First National Bank Building and the buildings that constituted the Civic Center Campus, i.e. Business Administration and Law. The University Park campus deeds include the transfer from Rufus ''Potato'' Clark to the University which was the basis of the current campus. Over the years the University acquired and disposed of many properties in the vacinity of the University Park campus and Observatory Park, mainly in the subdivisions of University Park Amended Map and Evanston Third Filing

Arrangement
This series is divided into 5 subseries. Subseries 1 is Property Administration. Subseries 2 is Maps and Blueprints. Subseries 3 is Real Estate Title Abstracts and Leasing Documentation. Subseries 4 is Property Sales, Gifts, and Contracts. Subseries 5 is Property-Related Financial Assets.
The real estate materials in this series used to be housed in the U184 DU Real Estate Collection. Now this box and other materials have been merged into the U113 DU Business and Financial Affairs Collection as the Office of Business and Financial Affairs typically oversees DU real estate and property purchasing as well as Facilities Management & Planning.
