Box 24: Czechoslovak Legion Research Materials by Subject, 1970s
Abstract
Box contains many xeroxed copies of primary and secondary sources concerning the Czechoslovak Legion, organized by subject. This includes telegrams, reports, journal articles, book chapters, and newspapers concerning Allied Intervention, the Družina (name of the legion for most of WWI), the imperial Russian gold reserve, Legion Origins, Maps, Samara, Siberia, Štefánik (general involved with the legion), Švec (officer with the legion), T.G. Masaryk (organizer of the legion and future president of Czechoslovakia), Tsarist Russia and the Czecho-Slovak Legion, and Zborov (site of important legion battle in 1917) Also includes general sources. Folders are grouped alphabetically by nation, then with respect to original order. Many contain annotations from Korbel, who was likely conducting research and copying sources in the 1970s, but many original papers date back to World War I.
