Sheet Music - 'The' Usher Song, 1950
Abstract
Sheet music (2 copies of score) used by CCOHA ushers written by Taylor Rhodes in 1950.Insdie cover reads; ''The' Ushers Song by Taylor Rhodes. Garbed in their traditional Prince Albert Costumes, the ushers of the Central City Opera House have become uniquely famous. Before each performance you can find a crowd of spectators grouped along historical Eureka street to watch the ushers march up the theater swining this, their very own song. Their happy singing signifies the start of another glorious evening of entertainment in the quaint, old Opera House.' Lyrics for song: Well, what do you know, here we go, We're off to start the show. You know who we are, from a far, frankly we sing better than the star, We're the Ushers. Who show you to your seat, then nonchalantly we step up on your feet. You may have brought a ticket for Row 'A' and Seat '3', But when we're through with you, you'll find you're in the balcony. We're the ushers that heed your beck and call, yet when you need us We're never there at all. Our flash lights never working to show the pit falls lurking We're the ushers of the Central City Show.
