Biographical / Historical
People throughout the United States left money to the Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society (JCRS), and later to the AMC Cancer Research Center, in their wills. Dr. Charles D. Spivak wanted the JCRS to be the ''people's institution'' and many of the early amounts were modest.
