Biographical / Historical
Dr. Charles D. Spivak was a founder and long-time executive director of the Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society. Patients knew him as ''Papa Spivak.'' Dr. Spivak was originally from Russia but went to medical school in the United States. Dr. Spivak came to Colorado because of the poor health of his wife, Jennie Charsky Spivak, who probably had incipient tuberculosis. He died in 1927.
