Abstract

Ida Libert Uchill was born in 1917 on a farm outside of Denver, Colorado to Paul and Fannie Pepper Libert. She died in Maryland in 2014. She was the author of Pioneers, Peddlers and Tsadikim: The Story of Jews in Colorado which was published in 1957 and a third edition published in 2000. She was an English teacher at Thomas Jefferson High School before teaching English at George Washington High School for seven years. In the fall of 1976 Ida Uchill returned to Thomas Jefferson High School where she was the faculty support for the "Jefferson Journal" until May, 1980. This box contains articles written by her and newsclippings on her life. The collection also contains copies of the "Jerfferson Journal."
