Scope and Contents
The collection includes tapes of various lectures used on "public nights" at Chamberlin Observatory; newspapers clippings related to Recht's work at the Observatory; bulletins of the Chamberlain Observatory, (1930-1938); "A Space Trip for the Joneses, " by A.W. Recht; Chamberlin Observatory publications on constellations; photographs, slides, block prints and glass plate negatives of eclipses, Observatory, telescope and Recht; notes for Recht's address to the National Amateur Astronomers Convention held in Denver (1959), journal articles by Recht and an unidentified reel of 8mm film. This collection also contains his biography, family pictures, a copy of his doctoral dissertation from the university of Chicago, and a photograph of the Recht Crater on the moon.
