Biographical / Historical
Ira C. Rothgerber, Sr., was born in 1878. He grew up in Denver, Colorado, and was educated at East High School and the University of Colorado at Boulder, graduating from the University of Colorado School of Law in 1901. In 1903, Rothgerber and his childhood friend, Walter Appel, became law partners and opened their own law firm, Rothgerber & Appel (now Rothgerber Johnson & Lyons LLP). Rothgerber married Reina Grunsfeld, and they had three children, Ira, Jr.; Irene; and Miriam. In 1913, Ira Rothgerber, Sr., was elected judge of the Denver County Court, a position in which he served for eight years. Rothgerber died in 1956.

Scope and Contents
The series consists of one scrapbook about Ira C. Rothgerber, Sr., early 20th century. It contains photographs, newspaper clippings, letters, ticket stubs, telegrams, postcards, invitations, event programs, and other materials. Some of the newspaper clippings describe law cases in which Rothgerber was involved. This series contains invitations, tickets, and programs for the 1937 presidential inauguration of Franklin D. Roosevelt.
