Milton Anfenger and Two Women on Picnic, 1906

Milton Anfenger and two women are sitting on a log picnicking outside in the mountains. Both women have on large hats and one woman has a ribbon pinned to her dress. Milton Louis Anfenger, wearing a vest, is is pouring a drink into one of the women's glass. The photograph is on page 78 of Milton Anfenger's scrapbook. It is said that Congregation Emanuel in Denver, Colorado was founded at the bris or circumcision ceremony of Milton Anfenger, the eldest son of Louis and Louise Anfenger. Milton Anfenger became a successful attorney and leader in Denver. He was a president and lifetime board member of National Jewish Hospital and wrote a book about its early history. Anfenger was active in state politics and was elected to the Colorado state senate in 1904.
