Abstract

A pale yellow-green hat base covered with differently shaded small green grapes made of painted glass and green, brown and red velvet leaves. One green velvet ribbon tied in a bow is also attached to the brim. Two layers of green tulle are attached to the crown of the hat and additional tulle forms the veil. The hatpin has a green glass head. The lining is nylon with a pattern of yellow and brown roses and green leaves. The inside hatband is made... from grosgrain ribbon in the same color as the hat and has two labels attached: the main label ''Neusteters Denver'' (underside of label states''Union Made JJ392431''); the 2nd label has a sewn-on icon of a pair of scissors and a spool of thread (underside of the label states ''New York''). Originally belonged to Sara Isaacson Ettenson.
