Child's Sleeveless Light Green Silk Dress, circa 1936
Abstract
Sleeveless hand-stitched dress for a child of not more than four years of age. The dress is made from two layers of light green material. The underdress is silk and the overdress is chiffon. The dress is rib-pleated (smocked) across the top with pink running stitches and the arm holes have chiffon binding. There are three chiffon ruffles along the bottom of the dress. An asymmetrical bow consisting of three silk ribbons (pale green on one side and pale pink on the other) are tied together and sewn on the right shoulder. Originally worn by Minna Mae Ettenson Jacobson.
