Abstract

Harry Pells stands in his Marine Corp uniform pointing to a wall of framed discharge papers and photographs. Harry made Quartermaster Sergeant in the Marine Corp before age 21. He is pointing to his Marine Corp discharge. His hand covers a U.S. Army discharge from W.W.II. US Airforce discharge at right. Cigar smoker in the middle is Louis Pells, Harry's brother, of Kansas City, Missouri who served in the US Marines WWII. Lower left partial picture is of Harry J. Pells taken December 1918 in US Army tank corp at rank of Corporal. Lower picture right Capt. US Army Air Corps, Miami, Florida in home of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Luby, December 1942.

The collection contains materials intentionally assembled by the Ira M. and Peryle Hayutin Beck Memorial Archives of Jews in the Rocky Mountain region. The bulk of the photographs are from or related to various towns in Colorado, but the collection also contains photographs from other states in the western United States and other countries. There are some 19th century photograph types represented in the collection, including albumen prints, daguerrotypes, tintypes, post cards, colorized prints, cabinet cards, and cartes-de-visite.
