Left to right: Karin Steinberg and Monica sit on a park bench with their arms around each other. Monica moved in with the Loewenstein family after her Jewish mother died as her father was a Nazi. She later committed suicide.

Documents and digital images from the Loewenstein's life in Berlin during World War II. Significant documents include deportation notices, birth and marriage certificates to prove Marie Loewenstein was not Jewish, ration and ID cards used to aquire food and clothing during the war.
