Abstract

Postcard written by Dr. Ernst Eylenburg in the Theresienstadt Concentration Camp, Czechoslovakia to Karin Steinberg in Vetschau, Germany when he was in the Theresienstadt Concentration Camp. Preprinted postcard with blanks Ernst filled in so that the message reads, "Theresienstadt, on 27. July 1944, Fraulein Karin Steinberg, I gratefully acknowledge receipt of your package on 2. July 1944, Dr. Ernst Eylenburg." Address side of the postcard has Eylenburg's and Steinberg's addresses and a canceled stamp featuring Adolf Hitler. The postmark is dated August 1944. Eylenburg died in the Auschwitz Concentration Camp.
