Abstract

Box contains two framed black and white photographs taken in Denver, June 6, 1957, at the 50th wedding anniversary of Morris & Lily Block; several mounted certificates: Certificate of the Board of Education, City and County of Denver, to Leo L. Block, as Second Lieutenant in the Denver High School Cadet Corps, dated May 23, 1931; Citizens Military Training Camp, Leo L. Block, appointed Captain Company D, presented July 8, 1931; Initiation certificate from Phi Beta Sigma, University of Denver, dated June 1, 1932; Initiation certificate for Tau Kappa Alpha, dated April 7, 1933; Membership certificate for Omicron Delta Kappa Fraternity, University of Denver, dated March 5, 1934; Certificate honoring Leo Block Charitable Gift Annuity 2005, by the Foundation for Jewish Philanthropies of San Antonio; and Certificate from The University of Denver, regarding Leo Block Professoship, listing recipients of the Professorship, 1990 - 2002. 2 mounted newspaper articles: The Denver Carrion, vol. I, no. 1, December 1934. ''Block Issues Holiday Message.'' Picture of Leo Block, college journalist, one sheet. Printed up like a small newspaper, Leo Block writes a holiday message, publishes his photograph, and has an article about his message under the heading, ''Editor Gives Cheer to Waiting World;'' University of Denver Today, September 22, 1987, vol. 9, no. 4: ''Leo Block Endows $1,000,000 Professorship.'' 1 full newspaper page: The Denver Post, November 6, 1932, section 4, page 7 - picture of Leo Block under the headline, ''An Old Caucasion Custom.'' 1 folder containing: Leo Block's diploma from Denver Public Schools, East High School, dated June 5, 1931, a Military Training Certificate from Citizens' Military Training Camps for the Blue Course of Instruction in Infantry Arm, Fort Logan, Colorado, dated July 12, 1932, a membership certificate for Scerah Senior Men's Honorary, University of Denver, dated February 15, 1934, and Leo Block's diploma for Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Denver, Faculty of the College of Liberal Arts, dated June 5, 1935.
