It airs Monday, April 25 at 9:00 p.m. (ET)* over PBS, as part of the Tenth Anniversary Season of Great Performances. the Dance in America presentation, unrelated to the Motzart opera of the same name, also features Heather Watts as Lise. It tells the story of the young couple's thwarted romance which resolves into a joyful finale thanks to the intervention of a rewarding god and a magic flute. Produced by Judy Kinberg and directed by Merrill Brockway, choreography is by Peter Martins. It is a production of WNET/THIRTEEN, New York, and is made possible by grants from EXXON, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and public television stations.
