Box 25: Collections Management , 1915 - 2008
Abstract
Box contains documents on maintaining library collections. This includes records of general acquisitions, sales of excess books, weeding, and recycling. Information on collection development is about half of the materials, and comprises of discussions on and agreement with different book and resource vendors. There are also documents on different inventory projects and their results from across the libraries. Finally, there is a processing notebook which lists numbers for volumes added, discarded/transferred, tracer, processed for binding, circulation, and shelved. Folders are arranged alphabetically by subject (acquisitions, book sales, collection development, inventories, processing notebook, recycling, reference book, video collection, and weeding), then chronologically. Box also contains two folders on the activities of Joe Hare, librarian with the university, in WWII.
