Ballet Master -- Peter Martins, newly named ballet master-in-chief of the New York City Ballet (With Jerome Robbins), directs Maria Calegari in her role as Oberon in ''The Magic Flute,'' a 19th century-style pantomime ballet airing on Great Performances' Dance in America series Monday, April 25 at 9:00 p.m. (ET)* over PBS. The ballet, unrelated to the Mozart opera of the same name, features Ib Andersen and Heather Watts as a young couple whose love is thwarted by her parents but with the aid of a magic flute their problems are solved. Produced by Judy Kinberg and directed by Merrill Brockway, choreography is by Peter Martins. It is a production of WNET/THIRTEEN, New York, and is made possible by grants from EXXON, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Corporation for Public Braodcasting, and public television stations.
