Biographical / Historical

Lynne Taylor-Corbett began her dance training in Denver, Colorado where she choreographed shows for local schools and danced in Denver Civic Ballet. After high school, Lynne moved to New York to study ballet at the American School of Ballet, Ballet Theatre, and the Joffrey School. She soon joined Alvin Ailey's company. In 1971, she became one of the founder/choreographers of the Theatre Dance Collection. Since 1971, Lynne has choreographed internationally for many ballet companies and choreographed/directed plays and musicals on and off Broadway. Well-known works of hers include: "Footloose," "Great Galloping Gottschalk," "Titanic" Broadway, "Chess" Broadway, and "Swing!." Lynne Taylor-Corbett has choreographed pieces for ballet companies such as Alvin Ailey Dance Theater, American Ballet Theatre, New York City Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance, The Atlanta Ballet, and Carolina Ballet.
