Biographical / Historical

Phoebe is from Arlington Heights Chicago. She came to Denver in 1949 as a freshman at Colorado Women’s College. After finishing her degree in Michigan she returned to Denver and became involved in the dance community. She served as president with Colorado Contemporary Dance, bringing a variety of different dance companies into Denver and previously served on the Denver Ballet Guild. At the time of this interview, Phoebe was serving on the board of the Central City Opera and working as a docent for Denver Art Museum.
