Inbal Dance Theatre of Israel, 1958
Abstract
Souvenir program for Inbal's American tour for the 1957-1958 season. Organized in Tel Aviv in 1949, this Israeli troupe performs theater and dance based an Jewish scriptures, folklore from Yemen and the Israeli national experience. With the international funding, and the help of artists such as Jerome Robbins and Anna Sokolow, it evolved from an amateur group into a professional touring company. Principal performers: Margalith Oved, Meir Ovadia. Artistic director: Sara Levi-Tanai. Presented by: S. Hurok under the auspices of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation (formerly American Fund for Israel Institutions) Works performed include: Streams in the Desert -- Yemenite Wedding -- Song of Deborah -- Woman of Valor. Series 02 contains another copy of this program.
