Abstract

Professor Howe's diary for 1906 recounts his brief weather and astronomical observations, administrative and teaching activities at the University of Denver, entertainment of visitors to the Chamberlin Observatory, participation in events in University Park and elsewhere in Denver, as well as his family and religious life. Special mention includes: repairing a wooden sidewalk, leveling the Observatory ditch in University Park; a May 26 housewarming... and the Buchtels' new home at the corner of South Columbine and Evans Avenue; and Chancellor Buchtel's election as Governor of Colorado.
