Abstract

Professor Howe's diary for 1908 recounts his brief weather and astronomical observations, administrative and teaching activities at the University of Denver, entertainment of visitors to the Chamberlin Observatory, participation in events in University Park and elsewhere in Denver, as well as his family and religious life. Special mention is made of a two week trip to the mountain cabin near Pine, Colorado; his in-laws and neighbors (Joseph C. Shattuck... and his wife) Golden Wedding Anniversary on September 17; and what was reported to be the heaviest snowfall since 1885 came at the end of November.
