Transcripts and history were transcribed and written by Herbert Julian Howe, the grandson of Herbert Alonzo Howe. The transcripts cover the years 1913 to 1926. The histories are ''Pioneer Astronomer: The Story of Herbert Alonzo Howe at the University of Denver'' and ''The Life and Times of Julian Osgood Howe.'' Also included are notes from the diaries and a DNA hair sample of Herbert Julian Howe.
