'The Face on the Barroom Floor'
Abstract
Photograph four unidentified affiliates looking at the face on the bar room floor painted by Herndon Davis in 1936. Davis was commissioned by the Central City Opera House Association to paint a few works for properties around Central City, Colorado. Painting is based on the poem by Hugh Antoine D'Arcy but is actually of Edna Juanita (Cotter) Davis, Herndon's wife.
