Abstract
Sen. Dominick (R-Colo.) stands with a group of men attending the Rural Electricification Administration meeting in Durango, Colorado in September, 1963. Harvey McPhail, wearing a hat, faces the senator. McPhail was the Assistant Commissioner of Reclamation during the Truman Administration. Ross Darling stands to the right of the senator. David A. Hamil, former member of the Colorado State House of Representatives as well as Speaker of the Colorado State House of Representatives, stands next to Darling. Dave Hamil served for 14 years as the Administrator of the Rural Electrification Administration and was instrumental in bringing electricity and phone service to rural areas of Colorado. Sen. Dominick's legislative responsibilities as a member of the Senate Committee on Interior and Insular Affairs included assisting the citizens of Colorado gain access to electric power.
