Abstract
Sen. Dominick (R-Colo.), seated at a hearing table and wearing glasses, consults his notes as he prepares to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee Subcommittee on Antitrust and Monopoly in April, 1967. He appeared twice before the committee during its hearings entitled Competitive Aspects of Oil Shale Development. He introduced a witness from the Colorado School of Mines on Tuesday, April 25, 1967. He also appeared in person on April 18, 1967. He told the committee that he was an ardent advocate for the development of an oil shale policy because it would boost the U.S. economy as well as reduce the country's reliance on foreign oil. Sen. Dominick endorsed private development of the resource, 80% of which was located in formations on government land in Colorado.
