Abstract

The Golden ski book was awarded to members of the Kitzbuhel Ski School who completed 20 out 30 suggested runs. This copy has 21 of the runs stamped and signed as completed in January 1955. Book issued to an unidentified skier with date of 26.I.1955 (January 26, 1955). The color illustrated cover features a high-kicking Alpine chamois (Rupicapra rupicapra rupicapra). Printed text chiefly in German, with Regulations for award of the book and greeting to the students translated into English, French and Italian. For each named ski run, the altitude drop is listed, and a black & white photo stock photo of it is mounted at the top of the page.

Those interested are requested to register with a teacher or at the off ice of the Ski School. Of the thirty suggested descents twenty different ones have to be made in one or at most two successive seasons. Each descent made is to be confirmed by the accompanyng ski teacher. The time and the place of the official awarding of the Golden Ski Book will be announced from time to time"--Regulations.
