JFK ceremonies in rotunda of Capitol, 1963 November 24
Abstract
Voice of America (VOA) Special Events Director and commentator Russell Black announces the memorial service for President John F. Kennedy in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda on November 24, 1963. Black talks about the physical setting, gives the names of numerous attendees including members of the President's Cabinet, the Congress, the Kennedy family and foreign dignitaries. Black also describes events in the rotunda as they take place. Senate Majority Leader Mike Mansfield (D-Mont.), United States Supreme Court Chief Justice Earl Warren, and Speaker of the House John W. McCormack (D-Mass.) all deliver eulogies during the ceremony.
