Abstract

Senator Peter H. Dominick (R-Colo.) delivers an after-dinner speech at a Republican Party banquet at the Alamo Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colorado, broadcast live on KRDO Radio on May 8, 1964. Sen. Dominick discusses how Republicans received a majority of votes during the 1960 election except in some major U.S. cities. He talks about how Republicans are working to increase their support in these areas as well as the chances that various congressional candidates have for winning seats in the South, especially Texas. Dominick also outlines the reasons that Republicans should work hard to regain power from the Democrats including numerous scandals, rising federal budgets, increases in the national debt limit, growth of the federal bureaucracy, inefficient domestic programs, and a confusing and contradictory foreign policy that is characterized by failure.
