GOP Grant Reynolds, 1962
Abstract
Grant Reynolds, a founder and chairman of the Committee against Jim Crow in Military Service and Training and a Republican civil rights activist, delivers a campaign speech in Colorado endorsing Congressman Peter H. Dominick (R-Colo.) for the United States Senate in 1962. Reynolds says that Negroes should support Republican candidates in the upcoming election, noting the history of Republican support for civil rights. He cites an example of Rep. Dominick's support of the issue, contrasting incumbent Senator John A. Carroll's (D-Colo.) votes in Congress that show a lack of support for civil rights.
