Abstract

Senators Peter H. Dominick (R-Colo.) and Floyd K. Haskell (D-Colo.) answer questions during an interview on September 26, 1973. Sen. Dominick and Sen. Haskell discuss whether the Agnew and Watergate scandals will affect Congressional incumbents during the upcoming election, the prospect of winter fuel shortages in Colorado and mandatory fuel allocation programs, whether environmental protection regulations should be relaxed to allow strip mining and oil shale development, the need to develop alternative energy sources, and increasing logging to meet lumber needs. The senators also discuss whether nerve gas should be created and maintained, cost of living increases and price controls, the allocation of federal funds to Denver following the creation of the Regional Transportation District, and the obstacles to passing minimum wage legislation.
