Report from Washington. Mad hatter in Laos, 1962 April 24
Abstract
Congressman Peter H. Dominick (R-Colo.) delivers his weekly radio address, Report from Washington, on Apr. 24, 1962. Rep. Dominick discusses topics including the situation in South East Asia. Specifically, he speaks about the U.S. actions in Laos. He calls Averell Harriman, then assistant Secretary of State for Far-Eastern Affairs, the Mad Hatter of Laos who tarnished the U.S. image in Laos. Dominick also denounces the attempted creation of a neutralist government in Laos, as envisioned by the Geneva agreement Harriman negotiated.
