Report from Washington. Wheat Referendum, 1963 May 23
Abstract
Senator Peter H. Dominick (R-Colo.) delivers his weekly radio address, Report from Washington, on May 23, 1963. Sen. Dominick announces the defeat of the Wheat Referendum by American farmers and pledges that the U.S. Congress will enact new wheat legislation. He also discusses his view that the Kennedy administration is attempting to control the production of the agricultural and livestock industries, reducing the need to export farm surpluses to European markets, in an effort to gain reduced tariffs on manufactured goods from the United States.
