Chancellor Mitchell Made the Following Release, 1970 May 7
Abstract
Press release from Chancellor Mitchell stating the University's position on student protests. A key paragraph states: ''Our position is that students have and should have this opportunity to express their concern about these events. The institution does not plan to interfere in any way with the students' right of expression on this or other issues. On the other hand, those students who desire to attend classes have paid their tuition and other costs on the basis that classes will be held. Faculty and students are encouraged, in and out of class to hold meaningful discussions on the issues.''
