Abstract

Exterior view of the University of Denver (DU) Chamberlin Observatory in Denver, Colorado. The observatory is on the National Register of Historic Places, and is named for Humphrey B. Chamberlin, a local land developer who donated $50,000 toward the project. The observatory was designed by Denver astronomer Herbert A. Howe, and the architect was Robert Sawyers Roeschlaub. Howe based the design on the Goodsell Observatory in Northfield, Minnesota. A dirt road and prarie grass are visible in the foreground.
