Biographical / Historical

Charles J. Hughes, Jr. was born in Missouri on February 16, 1853. He was a professor of mining law at University of Denver and Harvard. He was a Democratic U.S. Senator from 1909 until his death in 1911. He was a University of Denver Trustee from 1901 until his death.
