Abstract
Photographic image of three nursing students with a American flag hanging in the background at the University of Denver in 1957. The three are recipients of scholarships from the 40 and 8, which is a branch of the American Legion. Their names are: (left to right) Miss Donna Strong of Ault, Colorado, Mrs. Joyce Malone Neely of Ft. Lupton, Colorado, and Miss Elizabeth Straight of Greeley, Colorado.

Typewritten page taped to back of photo: "Public Information Office University of Denver Three full tuition scholarships for students studying nursing at DU have been provided by the 40 and 8 of Weld County, a branch of the American Legion. The three girls are Donna Strong (left) of Ault, Mrs. Joyce Malone Neely from Ft. Lupton, and Elizabeth Straight from Greeley. Miss Strong is among the first students to enter DU's new four-year School of Nursing, started last fall, which offers a B. S. degree in nursing and Registered Nurse diploma. Mrs. Neely will graduate in December and Miss Straight finished training in December 1956, both studying at St. Luke's Hospital, Denver. -30- 2-21-57"
