Biographical / Historical

Gloria Kubel received a BA in Education from Sarah Lawrence College and a MA in Dance from the University of Colorado-Boulder. She studied ballet growing up in New York City and studied modern dance with Martha Graham, Hanya Holm, Erick Hawkins, Alwin Nikolais, and Murray Louis. She taught modern dance in Denver for over twenty years and directed a small company of dancers. Gloria created a movemnet-discussion support group for women after breast cancer and taught dance-exercise, tai-chi movement meditation, and history of dance classes until 2017. Gloria taught at The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Denver (OLLI). Gloria passed in November 2017.
