Beginning in New York City in 1976, the Hannah Kahn Dance Company moved to Colorado in 1988. This collection contains photos, press coverage, programs, and print ephemera.

Biographical / Historical

The New York based company was established in 1976 and funded by the National Endowment for the Arts and the New York State Council on the Arts. The company moved to Colorado in 1988. The company has gone through several name changes since its beginning including: Hannah Kahn, Hannah Kahn Dalienne Majors and Dancers, Hannah Kahn and Dancers, and in 1992 was renamed Hannah Kahn Dance Company, its current name. The company’s activities include performances, educational outreach programs to public schools and other facilities, and participation in festivals. The current Colorado company receives funding from the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District, The Bowen Family Fund at The Denver Foundation, and the Denver Ballet Guild.
